Kinetic Pilates Instructor
After graduating from Sophia University in Tokyo, Ayako had a series of exciting careers prior to her entry to pilates.
She worked as a freelance interpreter in different industries in Tokyo, interacting with a diverse range of clients including BBC News, the West End musical production, American football teams (Denver Broncos and SF 49ers), foreign ministers, a NASA astronaut and more. Later on, she worked for the United Nations Headquarters in New York, and for investment banks in New York and Tokyo as IT professional.
She first encountered pilates when she relocated to Hong Kong in 2013. While she lived in Hong Kong, she turned her passion for pilates into profession and became a contemporary Pilates instructor in Polestar Pilates. She launched a pilates section at Pure Fitness in Central, Hong Kong in 2018.
Immediately after she relocated to the U.K. in 2020, she started her training at Kinetic Pilates with Rebecca Convey (Level III, Teacher Trainer). On Romana’s Pilates Instructor Training program, Ayako had the Basic seminar and exam with Jane Poerwoatmodjo (Level III) and Intermediate and Advanced seminars with Marjorie Oron (Master Instructor Trainer Level X). She enjoys learning and teaching the classical pilates at Kinetic Pilates.
Ayako believes that Pilates is suitable for all ages and that clients of all ages and all body types can benefit from a Pilates workout. She finds that Pilates is especially helpful when it comes to the flexibility of the spine. She finds it important to keep the body strong and supple as we age.
