Getting the Most Out of Pilates with One to One Classes
You will get the best results from Pilates if you have private one-to-one sessions on a regular basis as this enables to teach you the Pilates Method (how we use the body) using the full system (all the exercises and different equipment available).
When we teach you one-to-one Pilates, workouts are designed entirely around your individual needs and goals and incorporate work on whatever apparatus you need to use.
If you have more complicated health issues then privates also allow you to go at your speed and work in the way which will do you the most good.
Pilates With a Friend in Semi-Private Classes (“duets”)
Semi-private classes, or “duets” are workouts designed for two people who are at the same level in Pilates. We are able to use most of the system (a mix of work on the equipment and the mat) to teach you the Method.
Because there are two of you there are very slight compromises about which exercises we do, which is why it is important to work with someone at your own level. Most clients will need around 5 private sessions before starting duets sessions to be able to benefit from them properly.
Unlike some studios we do not offer group reformer classes as, until all the students are at an advanced level, working in groups larger than 3 or 4 on the equipment, especially reformers, means a sacrifice in quality.
If you do not want year round private sessions, you can choose to take a year round mat class and then add the occasional block of privates or duets.
Duet Sessions (two people taught together)
There is no joining fee or monthly membership cost. You are welcome to pay with cash, cheque or balance transfer. We do not currently have facilities for card payment.
Monday through Sunday by appointment only.
Please be on time for classes as sessions cannot run over time.
